數(shù)詞：表示數(shù)目多少或者順序先后的詞叫數(shù)詞，它有兩種形式：

表示數(shù)目多少的叫基數(shù)詞。例如：one一，two二，three三，four四。

表示順序先后的詞叫序數(shù)詞。例如：first第一，second第二，third第三，fourth第四

1.基數(shù)詞：

A. 基數(shù)詞的構(gòu)成：

(1) 1－12的基數(shù)詞是：one 1， two 2， three 3, four 4， five 5, six 6, seven 7, eight 8, nine 9,　 ten 10,　 eleven 11,　 twelve 12。

(2) 13－19的基數(shù)詞：分別在3－9的基數(shù)詞后加詞綴－teen，但要注意幾個特殊變化的基數(shù)詞：

13－thirteen，15－fifteen， 18－eighteen。

(3) 20－90的逢十的基數(shù)詞：分別在2－9的基數(shù)詞后加－ty構(gòu)成，即：

20－twenty，30－thirty，40－forty，50－fifty，60－sixty，70－seventy，80－eighty，

90－ninety。（注意20，30，40，50，80拼寫的特殊變化。）

(4) 21－29的基數(shù)詞：由十位數(shù)20的單詞形式twenty加個位數(shù)1－9構(gòu)成。中間用連字符。即：

21－twenty-one，22－twenty-two，23－twenty-three，24－twenty-four，25－twenty-five，

26－twenty-six，27－twenty-seven，28－twenty-eight，29－twenty-nine。

其他的十位數(shù)照此類推。

(5) 百位數(shù)是由1－9加hundred構(gòu)成。例如：200－two hundred。有百位數(shù)、十位數(shù)和個位數(shù)的三位數(shù)，百位數(shù)和十位數(shù)之間用and連接。例如：231－two hundred and thirty-one。

(6) 千位數(shù)是由1－9加thousand構(gòu)成，后面的百位數(shù)、十位數(shù)和個位數(shù)與前面的構(gòu)成方法一樣。

例如：6000－six thousand。2,369－two thousand three hundred and sixty-nine。

英語沒有“萬”這個單位。萬用10,000－ten thousand。十萬用one hundred thousand，但有百萬這個單位million。

B. 基數(shù)詞應(yīng)用的幾點注意事項：

(1) 基數(shù)詞可以用來表示年級、班級、房間號碼、電話號碼和編號。并且單詞開頭字母要大寫。例如：

She is in Class two, Grade four. 她在四年級二班。

Let’s learn learn Lesson Three today. 今天,我們來學習第三課。

(2) 基數(shù)詞作為數(shù)字在句子中作主語，謂語動詞用第三人稱單數(shù)形式。例如：

In the western countries, people think thirteen is unlucky number.

在西方國家，人們認為13是一個不吉利的數(shù)字。

但是代表可數(shù)名詞的復數(shù)形式時要用復數(shù)，例如：

Ten of them are from Canada. 他們中有十人是從加拿大來的。(ten = ten people)

(3) 基數(shù)詞的單位hundred，thousand，million和billion等用來表示具體數(shù)目，前面有具體的基數(shù)詞時，這些詞的后面不加－s。例如：

There are nine hundred teachers in our school. 我們學校有9000名老師。

但是當hundred，thousand，million和billion等用來表示不具體的數(shù)目時用“hundreds/ thousands/millions/ billions of ＋名詞”來表示，這些詞的前面也不用具體的基數(shù)詞。例如：

We have already planted thousands of trees on the farm.

我們在農(nóng)場里已經(jīng)種植了成千上萬棵樹。

2. 序數(shù)詞：

A. 序數(shù)詞的構(gòu)成：

(1) 1－19的序數(shù)詞除了第一（first），第二（second）和第三（third）之外，其他的序數(shù)詞是由基數(shù)詞加后綴－th構(gòu)成的。例如：第四－fourth，第六－sixth，第七－seventh等。注意幾個序數(shù)詞的特殊變化：fifth 第五，eighth 第八，ninth 第九，twelfth 第十二。

(2) 逢十的序數(shù)詞的構(gòu)成方法是：先將“幾十”的基數(shù)詞的詞尾-ty變?yōu)?/span>-ti再加eth。

例如：第20－twentieth，第30－thirtieth，第40－fortieth。

(3) 兩位數(shù)的序數(shù)詞如果包含1－9的個位數(shù)，十位數(shù)用基數(shù)詞，個位數(shù)用序數(shù)詞。

例如：第21－twenty-first，第34－thirty-fourth。

(4) 百、千、萬的序數(shù)詞有hundred－hundredth，thousand－thousandth。

B. 序數(shù)詞的用法：

(1) 序數(shù)詞在句子中主要作定語，有時也可以用作主語、賓語和表語。例如：

The sixth man went forward to feel the elephant. 第六個人走上前去摸象。

Look at the first picture, it is better than the second. 看，第一張照片比第二張好。

I am the third in this exam. 我這次考試是第一名。

(2) 定冠詞the和序數(shù)詞連用表示順序。不定冠詞a/an和序數(shù)詞連用表示“又一、再一”的意思。

例如：

You are the first and I am the second. 你第一，我第二。（表示順序）

Would you repeat it a third time? 你能再重復一次嗎？（已經(jīng)重復過兩次了）

3. 分數(shù)表示法：

分數(shù)是以基數(shù)詞代表分子，序數(shù)詞代表分母，除了分子是“1”的情況外，分母的序數(shù)詞都要用復數(shù)。

a half　 1/2　 one third　 1/3　 two thirds　 2/3　 a (one) quarter 或one fourth 1/4

分數(shù)在句子中作主語的時候，謂語動詞的單、復數(shù)形式由of后面的名詞來決定。

如果of后面的名詞是可數(shù)名詞的復數(shù)形式，謂語動詞用復數(shù)形式；

如果of后面的名詞是不可數(shù)名詞，謂語動詞用第三人稱單數(shù)形式。例如：

It is said that two thirds of information on the Internet is not the fact.

據(jù)說互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上三分之二的信息不是事實。（Information 是不可數(shù)名詞）

Three fifths of the boys in this room are 17 years old.

這個房間五分之三的男孩子17歲。

4. 年、月、日、時的表示法

(1) 年代

1994 nineteen ninety-four 2000 two thousand　　2008 two thousand and eight

1990’s (1990s)　 nineteen nineties　 二十世紀九十年代

(2) 日期 September 1, 2009， 讀作：September the first, two thousand and nine

(3) 時刻

數(shù)字寫法

9：00 nine o’clock

9:10 ten past nine / nine ten

9:15 (a) quarter past nine / nine fifteen

9:30 half past nine / nine thirty

9:40 twenty to ten/ nine forty

9:45 (a) quarter to ten / nine forty-five

在學習基數(shù)詞時，我們要注意以下點：

1. 基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞用法混淆。

(1) My brother is ninth years old and he had a party for his nine birthday last night.

此句是考查基數(shù)詞和序數(shù)詞的不同用法，從句子的意思理ninth表示年齡，應(yīng)該用基數(shù)詞；第二個nine表示“昨天她過第九個生日”。所以把ninth改為nine，把ninth改為nine。

(2) This is the three time you’ve failed the exam.

此句是考查序數(shù)詞的用法，從句子的意思理解是用序數(shù)詞和定冠詞連用表示“第三次”的意思。所以把three改為third。

2. 基數(shù)詞和名詞構(gòu)成合成詞時誤用復數(shù)。

My teacher is a forty–five-years-old women.

此句句子是考查：基數(shù)詞＋單數(shù)名詞＋形容詞構(gòu)成的合成形容詞的用法。中間的名詞用單數(shù)形式，所以把forty–five-years-old改為forty-five-year-old。

3. 基數(shù)詞表示編號時大小寫誤用。

—What class is he in? —He is in class five.

基數(shù)詞可以用來表示年級、班級和房間號碼等編號，但基數(shù)詞和名詞第一個字母要大寫。所以把class five改為Class Five。

4. hundred\thousand一類詞單復數(shù)用法混淆。

(1) There are hundred of people injured during the car accident.

此句是考查hundred和hundreds of的用法。

表示具體數(shù)目的時候，用基數(shù)詞和這些單詞連用，后面不加s。

表示約數(shù)時，用短語hundreds of，表示“成百上千的”，前面不用基數(shù)詞。從此句的意思理解是表示約數(shù)，所以把hundred of改為hundreds of。

(2) I lost two thousands yuan yesterday.

此句是考查thousand和thousands of的用法。表示具體數(shù)目的時候，用基數(shù)詞和這些單詞連用，后面不加s。表示約數(shù)時，用短語thousands of，表示“成千的、成千上萬的”，前面不用基數(shù)詞。從此句的意思理解是表示具體的數(shù)目，所以把thousands改為thousand。

5. 分數(shù)用法的易錯點，例如：

(1) Two five of the boys in this room are 17 years old.

此句是考查分數(shù)的表達法，分子用基數(shù)詞，分母用序數(shù)詞，如果分子大于1的時候，分母要加s。例如：七分之二 three sevenths。所以把five改為fifths。

(2) About three fourths of water for the villagers are from this lake.

此句是考查分數(shù)的用法，分數(shù)在句中作主語時，后面的名詞是可數(shù)名詞的復數(shù)形式，謂語動詞用復數(shù)形式；后面的名詞是不可數(shù)名詞時，謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。此句的名詞water是不可數(shù)名詞，所以把are改為is。
